Composing Diary

Composing Diary

What type of composition are you and your group working on?
The genre we are doing is R&B, we wanted to compose a song based on a love story and what goes on behind the scenes e.g hardship, fights, love etc. It would be a conversation or an argument between the male and female singers as it is a duet.

Who is in your group?
James (Guitar) & Issac (Piano)

Who is composing which parts?

We are all composing our song together, but at the moment we are just trying to figure out a tune/beat for the lyrics

Is it a Solo?

It is a duet

Instrumental?

We were thinking of making an instrumental, but then we thought again as I can't play any instruments other than my voice

What part of the composition are you going to work on this week?

We are working on the chores and finding a good instrumental to write to

I am just listening to the way Whitney sings it at the moment. But I will be learning the parts I don't know first and then work on how I am going to arrange it etc

Which part is the most difficult?

For me, I think it's the high parts, as I'm not a very high singer and struggle because I think don't like my head voice

Project Based Learning - (The End Result)

Project Based Learning

For our Project Based Learning, James, Sapphire and I wanted to help the people who are less fortunate.

And since it is nearly the time of year where you are meant to give back to others, we thought, what better way to do that than to raise money and buy a Christmas present for at least one homeless person.

We came up with the idea that we should put together a box, that has the essentials that a homeless person would need eg a Blanket, Toothbrush, etc.

Unfortunately, we couldn't go through with the box idea as we thought that it would just be more for them to carry.

So as a team we brainstormed how we could make them more comfortable. And we all came up with a Bag.

We then looked online at the Warehouse & Kmart sites to see if we could find a few items that would help them.
I came up with the idea that we should search up and then list what they would actually need.

When we completed our Christmas Hamper with a total of $100+ and our winner of the raffle (Mrs. Beer) was satisfied,
I then took action and went out to both stores to buy everything we needed for our perfect bag for our one homeless person that we wanted to help.

The Items that I am about to show you are the supplies we bought with the money from our Christmas hamper:

Tooth Brush - $5 (Kmart), ToothPaste - $1 (Warehouse), Nail clippers - $3 (Warehouse), Socks - $4.50 (Warehouse), Cotton buds - $1 (Warehouse), Hat - $5 for bucket hat (Warehouse), Band-aids - $3. 80 (Warehouse), Baby Wipes - $1 (Warehouse) Hair Brush - $5 (Warehouse), Deodorant - $4 (Warehouse), Neck Pillow $8 (Kmart), Blanket $10 (Warehouse), Toiletry Bag $5 (Warehouse), Bag $4 (Kmart)

Even though we didn't have the End Result that we hoped for eg helping more than 10 homeless people. I'm Glad that we got to spread Christmas spirit to at least one homeless person. Because to me, one act of kindness can change at least one person's life.

Check Point 6!

Project Based Learning.

Our first action we took to help the homeless was...
We Brainstormed different ways to make money. Our first two ideas, unfortunately, failed as it would not be a reality because everyone would ask for Sausage sizzle or a Mufti day.
We sat down as a group to think of out of the box ideas, that not many schools do. That is where the idea of doing a raffle Basket idea happened only it has a twist.
This Twist was that there was going to be 3 winners only the first person we draw out of the hat will get to pick first.
I think this is a good idea because I reckon it is fun, and it will get everyone involved in helping better our community.

Project Bass Learning!

Help for the Homeless!
By James, Oceana & Sapphire

We have chosen Homelessness for our PBL as we feel strongly about helping the ones who are less fortunate.

What we plan on doing to help our community is:

Buy a bag and fill it with the essentials that a homeless person would need. E.g blanket, vouchers for food & clothes etc
We are going to need to raise money, by doing a mufti day and sausage sizzle or make burgers.

What we want the outcome to be is to at least help one homeless person. And with the way we are going, we will achieve our task.

Sex offenders should be imprisoned for life Essay

Sex Offenders should be imprisoned for life.

Catch em (optional): “Why am I the one chained to the bed, When you should be the one locked up instead”

Paragraph 1:

I think sex offenders should be imprisoned for life because they should have consequences for doing what they do to other humans.
For example one of the Universal Declarations of Human Rights is “Everyone has the right to freedom without distinction of any kind, such as race, color, sex, language, religion, political or another's opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or another status.”
This is a HUMAN RIGHT, as it states whether you are a different color, whether you speak French, Portuguese, Samoan, Maori, whether you are Asian, Indian, American, African Etc.
You are entitled to these rights as human beings.
So again for a Human being to do that to another is why I am Writing my Essay on Sex Offenders.
As I want to be that voice for the less fortunate ones who go through these struggles on a daily Basis.

Paragraph 2:

Not only is it a violation of the Human Rights, but by having a variety of sex with different people you can spread diseases.
You may have thought that there were only three types of diseases (as they are commonly known.) Such as HIV (the virus that causes Aids), syphilis and herpes.
But there are in fact more diseases that can be spread sexually that not even I knew about. These diseases are called - gonorrhea, chlamydia, genital warts, vaginitis, viral hepatitis.
40% of rape survivors develop sexually transmitted diseases as a result of sexual assault.
Just think about every victim in brothels, girls & boys that are being trafficked, even Prostitutes. They have to live with Diseases, horrid memories, trust issues, and so much more for there whole life. So I ask this question again, why not send sex offenders to be imprisoned permanently for there consequences that they have done continually?

Paragraph 3:

If you search up the definition of  Sex offenders in google it comes up with "A Person who commits a crime involving a sexual act." Then if you write human trafficking, the definition comes up with "The action or practice of illegally transporting people from one country or area to another, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation."
If people know that human trafficking is wrong, false, unlawful etc, then why not do anything about it?
We live in a society where it is okay to be watching kids on the streets selling themselves.
We live in a society where Every second 28,258 users are watching pornography,
And Search engines get 116,000 queries every day related to child pornography.
If we start by putting sex offenders in jail for life we can then start working on fixing everything else.
So I leave you with this question.
Would you like to see children chained up to there beds or would you like to see sex offenders imprison for life instead?
